Today I read from the following books;

JUDGES 9:22 - 10:18
LUKE 24:13-53
PSALM 100:1-5
PROVERBS 14:11-12

In Judges today it speaks of Abimelech and how he was a wicked ruler. The Israelites were in turmoil and sounds like they were deep into sin. They were worshiping false gods, the people were getting robbed and murdered. After three years of Abimelech's rule, God sent an evil spirit to turn the citizens of Shecem against him. Then a man named Gaal came with his brothers into town. They started questioning Abimelech's ways and his authority, they rallied people against him (with the help of God) and finally got the Israelites totally against him. Zebul (Abimelech's man) heard of this and told Abimelech what was happening. He told him to get his entire army and fight the city, to take them all down. Abimelech listened to him and gathered his men, they hid outside the city walls and then attacked the city. They won that battle, and then moved on to another tour and burned 1000 people in it. Then they went to a tall tower in the center of the city but before they could set it on fire a woman dropped a millstone on his head which cracked his skull. His last words was him begging one of his men to kill him so that no one could say that he was killed by a woman. So his man killed him with a sword. At that point his reign was over and everyone was safe. A man named Tola led Israel for 23 years and then died, then a man named Jair led Israel for another 22 years until he died. After Jair's death the people of Israel did evil again, they started worshiping other gods and going against the Lords commands so the Lord stopped protecting them against their enemies. They were quickly overturned by the Philistines and the Ammonites. For 18 years they were under their rule until again they cried out to the Lord for help. God spoke to them, he told them that he has saved them from numerous enemies even though they continue to go back to their evil ways. They cried out to the lord saying do to us what you want but please save us today. They destroyed their false idols and started worshiping the lord again. It states that the Lord took pity on them and could not stand their suffering any longer.

In Luke today it talks about 2 women walking through town, soon a man (Jesus) started walking beside them and starting talking with them. They did not recognize him so they started talking about the story of Jesus and how sad they were and how everything went down. As they came to their house the invited Jesus in and asked hi to stay with them since it was getting dark. During dinner Jesus broke the bread and gave thanks, at that time the women noticed who he was and he immediately disappeared. The woman were amazing and ran back through town to the 11 and told them what happened. At that time Jesus appeared to them and every one freaked out, they thought they were seeing a ghost. Jesus proved he had really risen from the dead and then went up to heaven.

- I can imagine that everyone was amazed by this. Something like this is a life changing experience. That's not mentioning everything else these people have witnessed. They have seen so many things in their lives it must have been amazing to be that close to Jesus. -

The Proverbs for today is; PROVERBS 14:11-12 "The house of the wicked will be destroyed, but the tent of the upright will flourish. There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death.
